The Bharani Festival during the Malayalam month of meenam – March – April is the most important festival. The thookkam is celebrated at Venkanji Mudippura 1 km away from Kollemcode Mudippura where the deities are preserved. The Thookkam is an offering particularly favoured by the Devi and it is popular among the devotees in an around of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The festival lasts forten days. The most famous Thookkam is a sight to see not explain. On the first day of the festival ‘Devizhunnullathu from Kollemcode Mudippura to Venkanji Mudippura is accompany by elephants, various kinds of melams of the best artists of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. An important aspect of the festival is the hoisting of the Temple Flag. Lakhs of people participate irrespective of caste, creed and race.

Every year the offering of Pongala is a special temple practice on the Pathamudayam Day of the Malayalam month ‘Medam’ – April. Thousands of devotees assemble from different parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Thye observe Pongala rituals in and around of the temple Leksharchana is the most important part of the ‘Pongala Mahotsava’.

Kaliyoottu is conducted once in twelve years. According is legends Lord Siva created Bhadrakali to get rid of the atrocities of the giant Durikan. Sree Bhadrakali beheaded Darikan in the battle. The festival lasts four ten days. On the last day the ground battle takes place. Lakhs of people gather to witness the battle.
